Abstract :
Analyses theoretically transient phenomena in unidirectional
thyristors when regaining their valve property with regard to the
generation mechanism of commutation overvoltages. The influence of the
parameters of the electric circuit and of the properties of thyristors on
the transient phenomena considered, is discussed. The test method and test
results are given with particular attention drawn to the steepness of
decay of the peak inverse current and the effect of series chokes.
