Abstract :
The new stage of evolution in power electronics is presented. Fast
power semiconductor devices are described. The trends in changes in the
main structures, systems of control and design of converters are
discussed. The prognosis of development of power electronics as the
technology of the future is given. The situation in Poland is considered.
