Abstract :
Infrared thermography has proved a powerful method for investigating and overcoming technical problems relating to joint quality, which has electrical, mechanical and thermal repercussions. Using an image memory and electronic data processing it is possible to investigate thermal transient phenomena arising from overloads. The use of the technique, equipment needed and precautions required are considered.
