Provides an introduction to the technology of the control of power by means of silicon controlled rectifiers, thyristors and triacs. It exhibits a number of basic circuits, explains their
functioning, and illustrates the consequent wave-forms of voltage and current. It concludes with a discussion of the suppression of radio-frequency interference.
