APEC 2006 Social Event

The APEC schedule is pretty busy. The sessions start early in the morning and go all day and even into the evening. The APEC Social Event provides a chance to wind down a bit, enjoy relaxed conversation with friends and colleagues new and old, have a nice dinner, and enjoy some good music. The APEC 2006 Social Event will be held on the evening of Wednesday, March 22. The event will be a casual, buffet dinner followed by an evening of fine Texas music. The event is being held in the Union Station, just a short walk from the Hyatt Regency through a connecting passageway. So definitely reserve the evening of Wednesday, March 22 for an evening of conversation, food, drink and music.

Spouse And Guest Program

For the spouses and guests of APEC attendees, APEC has a full hospitality program planned, starting with a complimentary Welcoming Breakfast on Monday morning. Throughout the week, APEC has secured the use of Parino's Oven, a lovely restaurant on the Atrium level, as the Spouse and Guest Hospitality Room. Coffee will be served each day, making this a great place to meet friends old and new to plan the day. There are two optional tours planned for Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, the tour group will see the historic homes of Swiss Avenue and Park Cities and get tours of some. On Tuesday, the tour will visit two gems of the Dallas cultural scene - the Trammell Crow Collection of Asian Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center. This tour will certainly be a delight to the eyes and spirit.

After that, well there is just so much to do in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, whether it shopping at the original Nieman-Marcus or one of the huge outlet malls that surround the city, dining on world class cuisine of all types, or exploring more of the history and culture of the Dallas area, that APEC leaves it up to you to find some friends and go exploring!
