CAS 2001 PROGRAM

CAS 2001 program will consist in contributed (structured in oral or poster sessions) and invited papers. In oral sessions authors may use standard slides (5x5 cm2 overall size) or transparencies (max. 25x25 cm2). The presentation should not exceed 20 minutes (contributed papers) and 40 minutes (invited papers), discussion included. For poster sessions authors may use any materials within a 96x96 cm2 panel.

The program will include a Student Papers Session. The best paper is to be awarded by EDS Chapter. To be eligible, the paper must be based on the student’s own work and the authors should mention (in the Pre-Registration Form) their option to be registered in this session.

CAS 2001 Workshops

A number of distinct Sections, grouped in a few workshops, will be organized wirhin CAS 2001:

purple.gif (104 bytes) SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY OF NANOSTRUCTURES
purple.gif (104 bytes) MICRO AND NANOTECHNOLOGIES FOR BIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS
purple.gif (104 bytes) MICROPHOTONICS, with a special emphasis on OPTOELECTRONIC DEVICES FOR COMMUNICATIONS
purple.gif (104 bytes) MICROSTRUCTURES AND MICROSYSTEMS FOR MICROWAVE AND MILLIMETER WAVE COMMUNICATIONS.

Satellite Event of CAS

The third International MEMSWAVE Workshop, on "Micromachined Circuits for Microwave and Millimetre Waves"   will be organized on 9th of October 2001, in the same place. The papers presented at the workshop will be published in a special issue of the "Romanian Journal for the Information Science and Technology".

PAPER TO BE SUBMITTED

Contributed papers will be selected on the basis of a four pages paper, structured and printed according to the IEEE format (4 pages A4, two columns, including a 50 words summary, figures and references); original + 3 hard copies are requested. The authors should send the file of the paper by e-mail (or on a diskette), in Microsoft Word format and the hard copies by mail, too.

The papers will be printed by direct reproduction (photo-offset). The authors should print the papers, in very good contrast conditions ("Times New Roman" type font, 11pt. size are recommended), on A4 size bond paper, with 2.5 cm top, left and right margins and 3.5 cm bottom margin. For details, the authors should consult "A Guide for CAS Papers Authors" in the INTERNET web page of the conference.

INVITED PAPERS

The invited papers (10 pages A4, two columns, including a 50 words summary, figures and references) will be printed in the format given for the contributed papers. Original + one hard copy are requested. The invited speakers should send the file of the paper by e-mail (or on a diskette), too.

CAS 2001 PROCEEDINGS

The contributed and invited papers will be published in the CAS 2001 Proceedings, which will be delivered to the participants at the beginning of the conference.
