Blue.gif (140 bytes) For Wednesday afternoon, we have made arrangements to visit the "Foisor Palace" (which is not open to the public). This is a former Royal residence, now used by the Romanian Presidency. The number of places for this visit (free of charge, for registered participants; sponsored by the Romanian Academy): is limited, therefore - if interested - apply as soon as possible.
Blue.gif (140 bytes) On Thursday evening, the Conference Banquet, is the "peak" of the social events at the Conference.
Blue.gif (140 bytes) On Friday evening you may have the opportunity to explore (on your own or with the Romanian colleagues) restaurants and night clubs in Sinaia.
Blue.gif (140 bytes) For those staying during the weekend, Saturday morning is an ideal time to visit the Peles Castle and the Pelisor Castle. We can organize this visit for you (guided visit, ticket price: 2$), thus avoiding delays and making the best use of your time. If interested - apply as soon as possible.
Blue.gif (140 bytes) Saturday, in the afternoon, a concert (string quintet: Mozart, Dvorjak) is organized for CAS participants at the "Luminis vila", the house of the composer and violin player George Enescu. The best known Enescu's pupil has been Yehudi Menuhin, who studied in Sinaia 55 years ago. The concert is free of charge, but you have to use a taxicab to get at the "Luminis vila". If interested - apply as soon as possible. The guests are invited to visit the GEORGE ENESCU museum from 17:00 PM.
The day may end with a "dancing party", an uninformal event (farewell CAS'2001!).
