IMPORTANT NOTES FOR APEC AUTHORS

Oral Presentation And Dialogue Sessions

For the first time, APEC is hosting sessions with oral presentations of papers and dialogue sessions where the authors can speak more closely with those interested.

Please make note of the session type in which your paper appears.

Please note that regardless of whether your paper appears in an oral presentation or dialogue session, you must prepare and submit a manuscript for the APEC Proceedings.

Conference Registration

For the first time APEC is requiring Authors to register and pay their registration fees by the time their manuscript is submitted to the printer. Authors failing to register and pay may have their papers withdrawn from the conference. See the Author's Kit for details.

Manuscript Due Date

Manuscripts must be uploaded to the IEEE Publishing Web site not later than December 1, 2003.

Special Note To Authors Not Living In The United States

At APEC 2003, there were a few authors who were not able to present their papers because they were not able to get a visa for entry into the United States in time. The APEC Conference Committee has discussed how it can assist authors not living in the United States. After consulting with the Conference Management team, the only thing the conference can do is issue letters of invitation to the presenting author with the notification that a paper has been accepted.

APEC 2004 encourages prospective authors not living in the United States to investigate as soon as possible the process and time needed to obtain a visa for entry into the United States. The presenting authors are responsible for assuring that they will have the needed travel documents in time for the conference. Please keep in mind that all APEC can do to assist you is send a letter of invitation. Visas are issued by the United States government and APEC has no control or influence with the Unites States immigration authorities.

The Author's Kit, with instructions on how to prepare your manuscript for publication in the Conference Proceedings, presentation at the conference, copyright release form and other related information has been sent by email.
