Abstract :
Power semiconductors are the driving force behind continued
developments in power electronic systems engineering, particularly
with regard to energy savings, control dynamics, noise reduction,
and minimum levels of volume and weight. The author discusses the
key power semiconductor developments in GTO, thyristors, IGBTs, and
MOSFETs.
