Scenes from the 1996 Power Electronics Specialists Conference in Baveno, Italy More than 450 persons attended PESC '96 held at the Grand Hotel Dino on the shore of Lake Maggiore, Baveno, Italy, to hear a technical program of more than 300 papers. The conference was chaired by Piero G. Maranesi, Università di Milano, with assistance from Program Chair Sandro Tenconi of Ansaldo Industries, Genova; Finance Chair Alessandro Gandelli, Publication Chair Vincenzo Varoli, and Accomodation Chair Antonello Monti, all of Politecnico di Milano; and Registration Chair Franco Profumo, Politecnico di Torino.
