Second Call for Nominations for AdCom Members

Each year, six of the eighteen elected members-at-large of the Administrative Committee (AdCom) of the IEEE Power Electronics Society are rotated off the AdCom. The Nominations Committee is now accepting nominations for six members-at-large of the AdCom, each to serve a term of three years starting January 1, 1997. A nomination petition signed by a minimum of 25 Society members, including Students and Affiliates, should be submitted to the Chair of the Nominations Committee, Professor Fred C. Lee, Virginia Power Electronics Center, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, 667 Whittemore Hall, Blacksburg, VA 24061-0111, USA.

In addition to nominations by petition, the Chair of the Nominations Committee solicits additional nominations from all members of the existing AdCom by letter. From the nominations received, the Nominations Committee prepares a list of at least three names for every two vacancies among the members-at-large. The election will take place prior to the October 6, 1996, AdCom Meeting in the form of written ballot by AdCom members.

Nominations by petition from the Society membership provide an opportunity for members of PELS to assist in the identification of talented persons who are willing and able to take an active part in this important volunteer activity of the Society.
