1996 IEEE Industry Applications Society 31st Annual Meeting is scheduled for October 5-10, 1996, in San Diego, California, USA. One of two features of special interest to power electronics engineers are technical sessions organized by the IAS Production and Light Committee that will emphasize lighting electronics, light sources, lighting systems, and electronics packaging in lighting. The second feature, organized by the IAS Power Electronics Devices and Components Committee, is a special session on model validation that will speak to the growing needs and interest in establishing procedures for the comprehensive evaluation of circuit simulator models.

CIEP '96, IEEE V International Power Electronics Congress, is set for October 14-17, 1996, at the Hotel Posada Jacarandas, Cuernavaca, Mexico, in cooperation with the Power Electronics Society. Papers from Brazil, Spain, Venezuela, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Italy, Egype, Ploand, Belgium, England, Denmark and Mexico will be presented at the converence in conjunction with five very interesting tutorials.
