Professor Daan van Wyk of the Center for Power Electronics Systems will be serving as General Chair of Conference on Integrated Power Systems (CIPS 2002) to be held in Bremen, Germany on June 11 and 12, 2002. Prof. van Wyk is a member of the Virginia Tech faculty, and leads the integrated packaging research team of CPES.
The first CIPS conference was held in 2000 in parallel to the Conference "ACTUATOR 2000" in Bremen. The focus of this conference is smart power, mechatronic integration (power electronics and motors) and power supplies. Conference topics include Hybrid or monolithic integrated power electronic systems in automotive applications, Integration of power electronic systems (mechatronics integration) in medium und low power motor drive units - home appliances are denoted a special focus - and Integration of power electronic systems and high power densities.
The conference is organized by ETG, the Energy Technology Society of VDE, sponsored by IEEE Region 8, Bremen Center of Mechatronics (BCM), Microsystem Center Bremen (MCB), University of Bremen, VDE/VDI Society of Mechatronics, Micro- and Prescision Engineering (GMM), Infineon Technologies AG, Munich, and Power Electronics Europe (PEE), Munich.
