Instructions For Special Presentation Session Speakers

Panel Discussion ParticipantsIn order to save preparation time, no panelist will make a presentation. The panel discussion moderator may ask for information in order to help introduce you to the audience and provide a frame of reference for your perspectives. In addition the moderator may provide an overview of the topics that the moderator wishes to address prior to the panel discussion. Panelists are asked to stick to the issues being addressed and to avoid overtly commercial propaganda. Moderators may cut off panelists who ramble off topic or start to promote their own agendas. Deadline for PresentationsAttention Special Presentators - Your presentations are now past due!
Your presentation in Microsoft Powerpoint format must be received at the APEC offices (apec@apec-conf.org) no later than January 30, 2006. Please note that the only format that will be accepted is Microsoft PowerPoint. If you cannot provide your presentation in Powerpoint format, contact the APEC 2006 offices without delay to make arrangements.
APEC's Right To Review And Require ChangesYour presentation will be reviewed by APEC. Presentations that do not fit the topic or are overly commercial may require changes at APEC's discretion. You agree to make the requested changes or to withdraw your presentation. CopyrightParticipants in Special Presentation Sessions retain the copyright to their material. However, by submitting your presentation to APEC you agree to permit APEC to publish their presentations in Adobe Acrobat format on the APEC Web site or on any of the sponsor's Web sites for any period of time. Presenters also agree to permit APEC to publish and distribute printed, hard-copy versions of the presentations during APEC 2006. Visas

RegistrationAll Presenters are required, at a minimum, to register for and pay the normal registration fee for the Technical Session portion of the APEC Program. If you do not register for the conference before the Early Registration of February 17, then you will be unable to present at the conference. LanguageAPEC requires you to prepare and deliver your presentation in English. ExpensesAll expenses related to preparing the presentation and presenting it at the conference are the sole responsibility of the presenter. All Presenters, whether they are presenting in the morning or the afternoon, are required to attend the Speaker's Briefing on the morning of the day their paper is scheduled for presentation. At this meeting, you meet your session chair and receive instructions on your session. All presenters receive a complimentary breakfast. Bring along a short professional biography that your session chair can use to introduce you to the session audience.

APEC will consider Additional audiovisual equipment needs on a case-by-case basis. Send your request to the APEC offices no later than February 3, 2006.
Presentation Media - Computer Projection
APEC will provide LCD computer projectors and computers in each session. Your presentation will be pre-loaded on the computer in the session room. APEC will not allow presenters to connect their computers to the display projectors. Transferring the projector from one computer to another and back again takes too much time and creates opportunities for computer crashes.

Rehearsal RoomAPEC will not have a space for you to preview or rehearse your presentation. This makes it most important that you attend the Speaker's Briefing and meet with the projectionist well before the start of your session.
