SUBMITTING A PAPER APEC

To submit a paper to APEC:

  1. Prepare an abstract and digest of your work
  2. Select the APEC Presentation Topic Category that best describes the topic of your proposed paper
  3. Convert your digest to Adobe® Acrobat® Portable Document (PDF) format
  4. Log into the APEC digest submission web site and create a login ID
  5. Enter the requested information
  6. Upload your digest

PREPARING YOUR ABSTRACT

The abstract is a short statement of the contribution of your paper. As briefly as possible, describe the problem your work addresses and how your work contributes to the solution. The abstract should be no longer than 50 words.

Abstracts are typed into the APEC submission web site and are not separate documents.

PREPARING YOUR DIGEST

The digest is a three to five page long extended summary of your work. Start by describing the problem your work addresses. Describe your work and how it contributes to the solution of the problem. Include, if relevant, as much evidence of completed experimental as possible. Conclude your digest with a list of appropriate references to prior work.

The guidelines and requirements for digest submitted to APEC 2005 are:

  • Papers presented at APEC must be original material and must not have been presented or published previously.
  • The Digest should give a clear and concise statement of the purpose and contribution of the work, specific results and the methods used. Include key figures, tables and references.
  • APEC reviewers value highly evidence of completed experimental work such as oscillograms and photos of equipment under test. Please note that APEC reviewers generally do not consider computer simulations as experimental evidence.
  • The heading of the Digest should include only the title with no mention of the authors or their affiliations.
  • Digests should be three to five pages including figures, charts, equations and references. Each page should be a single column on North American A size (8.5 inch x 11 inch) or European A4 size paper. The minimum font size is 10 points.
  • Digests longer than five pages may be rejected by the reviewers.
  • All digests must comply with the export control laws of the country or countries in which the author(s) reside. A statement of compliance will be required as part of the submission process.
  • All authors should obtain company and governmental clearance prior to submission of Abstracts and Digests.
  • Abstracts and Digests marked or labeled as "Confidential", "Proprietary" or with similar wording will not be accepted.
  • Digests must be submitted in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF).

SUBMITTING YOUR ABSTRACT AND DIGEST

Abstract and digests are submitted through the APEC 2005 Digest Submission Web page. This page will remain open until August 9, 2004.

Information that will be needed when you submit your abstract and digest:

  • The title of your paper
  • The APEC Presentation Topic Category of your paper. This will be selected from a list provided during the submission process
  • Name and contact information (affiliation, mailing address, email address, telephone number and facsimile number) of the corresponding author.
  • A list of the names and affiliations of all co-author.
  • The abstract - which you will have to type in
  • The digest itself, in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF)
  • The APEC Presentation Topic Category that best describes the topic of your proposed paper ( APEC05_Technical_Interest_Areas.html )

After creating your submission and uploading your digest, it will be granted "Draft" status automatically. Once the submission is complete, you will have the option to make it "Final", all submissions must be made "Final" to be considered during the review process. Please maintain up-to-date contact information (especially email address, can be edited after logging in) as this is the primary means of communication regarding the status of your submission.

MORE ABOUT APEC PAPERS AND AUTHORSHIP

Authors whose papers are accepted are required to:

  • Prepare a manuscript according to IEEE and APEC guidelines for publication in the APEC Proceedings
  • Present the paper at APEC and
  • Register for the conference at the appropriate rate.

Manuscripts not received by the deadline above may not be published in the Proceedings. Papers not in the APEC Proceedings will not be presented at the conference.

Manuscripts exceeding seven pages will be required to pay a Page Charge for each page over seven. These charges must be paid when the manuscript is submitted for publication. Failure to pay the page charges will result in your paper being withdrawn from the APEC Proceedings and it will not be presented at the conference.

ABSTRACT & DIGEST REVIEW PROCESS

A peer review process will be used to evaluate all papers submitted for consideration. The principal criterion in reviewing papers for acceptance will be the usefulness of the presentation to the practicing power electronics professional. The reviewers also value evidence of completed experimental work.
