Electronic Ballast in Lighting

Due to the increasingly stringent requirements on power quality of utility line and power efficiency, electronic ballastis used in lighting applications are becoming more and more important in power electronics. The use of electronic ballasts reduces the size and weight of lighting fixture due to its high switching frequency. For example, most compact fluorescent lamps available in the market today are elctronically ballasted operating in the tens of kilohertz freqency range.
