NEXUSPAN MEETING AT CAS’2000 CONFERENCE

The meeting was hosted by Prof Dan Dascalu, General Chairman of the CAS’2000 Organising Committee and Professor at the National Institute for Research and Development in Microtechnologies (IMT) in Bucharest.

The meeting was attended by Dr Andje Jelenski (NEXUSPAN Co-ordinator and NEXUS EB), Dr Hans-Christian Petzold (NEXUS Office and EB), Dr Patric Salomon (NEXUS USC, NEXUSPAN and EB) and Dr Ayman El-Fatatry (NEXUS USC and EB).

The meeting was considered to be very constructive and the agreed actions, should help in enhancing the process of interaction and dissemination, thereby, assisting with the integration of NEXUSPAN within NEXUS.

Of relevance to the USCs, the following Actions were proposed:

The USC Co-ordinators will be requested to circulate documentation and information to all the NCPs (National Contact Points) for further dissemination and to encourage interaction.
Christian to provide all the co-ordinators with an up-to-date list of the NCPs.
The NCPs to provide the USC co-ordinators with further contact names and details. These individuals will be expected to actively participate in the appropriate USCs either through attendance or by e-mail.
The USC Co-ordinators will be encouraged to set up USC meetings in Eastern Europe.

To succeed in attracting participants, the NCPs have been requested to help identify suitable organisations and companies which will attract attendance.
