Abstract :
The integrated double-motor is a new drive-principle for domestic washing-machines and
consists of a single-phase capacitor motor and an universalmotor, both using a common
stator and rotor core. The design principles are discussed. A robust construction, a wide speed
range up to 1:20, a weight of about 6 kg comparable to that of electronic drives, however
without problems of brush life and simple switching operation are the characteristics of this
motor.
